There is no reporter narrating the events as they go down. What differentiates INCIDENT from REC, though, is that INCIDENT is more realistic. Soon everything goes to hell again with folks becoming possessed by evil spirits unsettled by the spiritualist. The final scene as the murderer walks across the screen followed by what appears to be an unearthly black shadow is nightmarish and absolutely terrifying.Ĭut to some time later, and a television team returns to the scene of the crime with a reporter, a crew, and a spiritualist. This scene plays out in real time, switching from one camera to the next, following one creepy man filled with a lust for blood.
THE INCIDENT 2011 FILM FULL
The sincerity and fear in this man’s voice add a lot to the tension of the film as we cut to a series of silent security cams detailing a murderous rampage of one man as he kills an entire factory full of workers one by one. INCIDENT starts out in a truly effective and ominous scene as a police inspector says that what we are about to see if real footage, uncut, as it happened. I’m a fan of found footage films, but after sitting through this type of film for the hundredth time, I can’t help but be a bit weary when I see the old shaky cam used yet again. Whereas that film had a plucky protagonist screaming through the hallways and stairwells of a singular apartment running from possessed rabies infected monsters, INCIDENT is a much more elaborate film which has its own accomplishments and pitfalls utilizing a similar first person POV storytelling device. When the Argentinian film INCIDENT begins you can’t help but think of REC, and in fact, it turns out to be a lot like that film the longer it goes, with one distinction. INCIDENT (2011) As far as low budget horror films are concerned, Asylum Blackout is far better than the most mainstream horror films. Sure there are aspects that could have been improved upon, but this is still worth seeing if you love these types of horror films. However with this one, it takes the setting of an asylum and adds a survival situation to make it a good horror film.
I really love horror films set in asylums, haunted old buildings and abandoned hospitals that have a dark past. Fans looking for creative horror films will enjoy this film, and as a fan of these types of horror films, Asylum Blackout is a treat.
T hew film could have been better, but for what it is, it's a pretty good effort that delivers an entertaining hour and a half of jolts. Some of the best horror films use simplistic ideas to tell an awesome, memorable story. Easy, simplistic and to the point, this film doesn't try to overdo anything. The cast do a good job in their performances, and what I enjoyed about the story was that it featured a bunch people trapped with lunatics in an asylum and they try to survive the night. The idea is simple, yet effective enough to keep you entertained from start to finish. If you're looking for a surprising horror film, then Asylum Blackout may provide what you're looking for. The film is not perfect, but it does rely on some impressive performances, and good moments of thrills. Pretty good low budget horror film, Asylum Blackout is an inventive film, one that takes an interesting approach to a familiar formula.
